The day started of with rain, and the coaches/instructors didn't hold out much hope that, those that had said they would attend would actually turn up, but, lo and behold 5 adults and 2 juniors arrived.
After being given safety instructions, sorted into groups, it was down to the business of Fly tying, Casting, Knots & Rod assembly.
At about 2:30pm a short break was called for tea/coffee etc. then it was on to the water to put into practice what had been learnt.
Well, at this point the rain stopped! and everyone set to with gusto, before long fish were being caught, and lost!
At 5pm a halt was called to the fishing, everyone having caught at least 1 fish, and some managing to catch and return safely more.
From a miserable start to the day, it turned out to be very enjoyable.
Thanks to Amherst Lodge Fishery for providing unlimited access to fishing, tea/coffee etc. and somewhere dry to tie flies etc.
