Fish were caught, but not in great numbers, the three other anglers managed to catch more than myself, i only managed to fool only two in the atrocious conditions.
The following day (Tuesday) the river we were booked to fish had risen by 2m's!! after visiting the Usk reservoir, and nearly being blown of that it was decided to go to Spring water fishery, trout and coarse fishing. we all had a catch and release ticket, which allowed you to fish a coarse lake with fly! everyone managing to catch roach and carp on the fly, my best carp going about 5-6 lb.
The next day (Wednesday) the river was still up, we managed to get on to one of the tributaries (R. Twch) this proved to be a great days fishing, as by now the rain had stopped, and the wind had dropped, managed half-a-dozen nice trout to about 10 inches.
Last day (Thursday) time to leave the lodgings, pack the cars, and head to the R. Cothi. for our last days fishing before heading home.
We had about 3 mls of fishing, however, by now i was feeling a bit knackered after all the walking to the start of beats, so i only went about a mile downstream, and started to fish back. In a long stretch of shallow-ish water i started to catch fish to about 4ins! but its better than catching nothing. At about 4.30pm we went back to the cafe, had coffees and departed for home, finally arriving home at 8.30pm.
will try and post some pictures later.
